Founded by Mike Smith as Bay 198 in 2010, The Bay in Lincoln began as a safe, welcoming space for local youth to explore their passions, reimagine their educational paths, and build career-related skills. In 2012, after relocating to 2005 Y St. and partnering with the nonprofit music publication Hear Nebraska, created by Andy and Angie Norman, The Bay expanded its programs and outreach efforts, continuing to deepen its impact on the Lincoln Community.

Beginning as one of the state’s only indoor skateparks, The Bay Lincoln has been synonymous with Nebraska skateboarding since 2010, hosting programming like skate school to regional skateboarding competitions like Red Bull Cornerstone.
For youth armed with our cameras, tablets, and other creative equipment, The Bay Lincoln hosts focused spaces for web development, design, recording, editing, podcasting and more.
From on-stage performance to behind-the-board production, The Bay Lincoln's dedicated, youth-only performance and production venue provides a comfortable, intimate space for STEAM and other technical, experiential learning, as well as first debuts.
