Bay High, a focus program partnership between Lincoln Public Schools and The Bay, takes a unique approach to serving high school juniors and seniors. Bay High provides creative entrepreneurial-minded students with the tools, access, and resources to be successful creators of tomorrow.
RABBLE MEDIA SESSIONS
APRIL 2022
With guidance from The Bay staff, Bay High students produced a high quality live music video session with recording artists Mesonijxx and Myles Jasnowski in The Bay’s indoor skatepark. Students were involved in choosing the location, lighting the performers, operating cameras, behind the scenes photography, and even editing the video. It’s through activations like this where Bay High students are provided the opportunity to get experience with relevant equipment and techniques regularly used by industry professionals.
SKATE ART MUSIC FEST
MAY 2024
Skate Art Music Fest is an annual event fully organized by Bay High students, held at The Bay Lincoln. Open to the public, the festival features a skate contest, art vendors, interactive art projects, and live performances from local bands. From start to finish, students manage every aspect of the event, building skills in talent booking, event planning, graphic design, and digital marketing. They also gain experience securing sponsorships from local businesses, making each year’s event a true community effort.
RUNZA COLLABORATION
APRIL 2023
In April 2023, Bay High seniors collaborated with executives from Nebraska-famous restaurant chain Runza to strategize, organize, and implement a mock employee recruitment campaign. Students planned and captured high-quality shots using professional equipment, utilizing both the restaurant and The Bay spaces to bring their vision to life. The project concluded with an editing session to finalize and present the deliverable to VP-level Runza executives.
